The Jayzed Data Models subsite provides downloads of the latest 2025/Q1 release and resources for licensees of the Full Commercial version of the Financial Industry Business Data Model (FIB-DM).

Access and Login

The support downloads are a convenient single point for the “Technical Contacts” in the FIB-DM Intellectual Property License Agreement (IPLA), #6 Fulfillment. Rather than looking for Jayzed emails with resource attachments or download links, you can find the up-to-date model and MS Office files on this portal.

The four download areas, Data Model, Education, Analysis, and Concept Maps, in the menu and widgets on the right side of this page, are not public. Click or select them and log in with your provided username and password. If you have trouble logging in, please see the Questions & Answers section on this page.

Users of the free open-source version of the FIBO Data Model should download from the FIB-DM website.

Data Model download

The page has secure download links for the PowerDesigner Conceptual Data Model (CDM) and Logical Data Model (LDM) derived from the latest Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO) release. The EDM Council publishes a new FIBO every three months, and the transformed FIB-DM becomes available here 1-2 weeks afterwards.

Resources

The FIBO Data Model is huge – more than 3,000 entities. The FIB-DM education course trains you on the model using live demos, presentations, and MS-Excel workbooks to navigate indirectly related entities associations.

The “Data Model Resources,” IPLA #3.2, are bonus materials. That means they are complementary and not a contractual entitlement. In other words, PowerPoints may have screenshots of earlier FIB-DM versions, and Jayzed may discontinue a presentation. The resources are included in your license agreement: You can customize the PowerPoint presentations and Excel Spreadsheets to create custom assets for your organization – do not share with 3rd parties!

Education (PowerPoints)

The free FIB-DM training typically has six lessons with PowerPoint discussions and follow-alongs in the data modeling tool. Eight lectures are on the FIB-DM YouTube channel. Viewers can review the PowerPoint in MS Office Online and download PDF versions of the presentations available on the FIB-DM website (see Menu->Resources->PowerPoints). The actual PowerPoint presentation files are reserved for commercial licensees.

Two new classes, Scoping a Loans Model and Object Management Group (OMG) Commons, will be published in 2025.

Analysis (Excel)

The Analysis page provides the MS Excel file of the popular quarterly FIB-DM Release report, which is only available as a PDF on the FIB-DM website. Another Excel asset is the patented Entity/Relationship Metadata Sets (MDS). These are generic versions that are input for tool-specific MDS. For details, see the Configurable Ontology to Data Model (CODT) article and the patent.

The ontology and data model are complex. Architects and Ontologists find it challenging to find the path between entities and different areas, such as “How does a person (borrower) connect to the Mortgage?” but the Concept Associations and other spreadsheets facilitate the analysis.

Concept Maps (Visio)

Business stakeholders and users struggle with E/R diagrams and ontology graphs. The FIB-CM concept maps are a simplified representation. See the House of Finance article and watch the scoping video. The MS Visio file has 20 Stencils and example Concept Maps.

Questions & Answers

Who gets model and resource updates?

Financial Institutions with a Commercial License and an active Maintenance agreement are entitled to FIB-DM updates.

Can new Licensees access the portal?

Yes. Financial Institutions that have just licensed the FIBO Data Model have one month of access to the portal.

Does this portal replace the emails with secure download links?

No. The Portal and emails are alternative distribution channels. You will still receive an email every quarter when a new version of the data model has been released.

What is the benefit of using the support site?

Some users find it more convenient to find all resources in one place rather than looking for emails. You can also download individual PowerPoint or Excel files here instead of the entire ZIP.

Who is registered as a user to access the downloads?

Technical Contacts, the person(s) at your Financial Institution who currently receive FIB-DM Support emails with secure download links, can log in to this portal.
email recipients = portal users
A central group like Enterprise or Global Data Architecture typically owns assets like FIB-DM.

Should all Data Modelers and Developers access the portal?

No. Typically, your Enterprise Data Architecture team customizes the data model and resources and makes them available on your intranet. Likewise, the “new release” emails don’t go out to everyone at the bank.

Can we add and remove users?

Yes. Please send an email when a new architect joins your team, and I will add her to the email distribution list and send her a password for the portal.
